"...a good haunting."

There are often times I'm reminded of my great grandfather's lessons in practicing joy and compassion for others, just by hearing his own laugh echoing in my own. And through the nostalgic tears of memories, I'm healed. I want to remind people of this kind of healing. Of this kind of haunting.

a good haunting.

07.04.20 | Warriors Fun Run 2020

It’s been nearly a year since I’ve first biked with Nyle, Aisha, Katrina on a Warriors Bike Run.

Think the 1979 cult classic “The Warriors,” except we bike from the Bronx - all the way back down to Coney Island for a showdown between the finalists.

And I’m finally releasing a cut of what I shot on my iPhone that night.

Btw, our crew was the Joint Council - we dressed as retired day-traders-turned-pot enthusiasts - Because you dress for the job you WANT. J/K. No Rowling.

Here’s some test footage for an upcoming project. I figured it’d need a decent tune to accompany it. And two hours later, this came out. 🖤

Willow: An Afrofuturist Anti-Capitalist Womanist Horror Flick

In a world, that literally runs on the blood of Black and Brown bodies, a new day has finally come.. at a price. A vivid retelling of Audrey Lorde’s adage: “the Master’s tools shall never dismantle the master’s house” - ‘Willow’ explores a less innocuous understanding of American society, through exploitation, relationships and capitalism.

BOMBA!

I'm feeling so much gratitude for the work I'm doing right now.

RELEASE: an experimental short film

Here’s a film that I’m REALLY proud of: “Release.” I co-directed, edited and DP’d (director of photography) on it. And I was smart enough to ask for help from Katrina Reid (1st AD/ Production Manager), Dominik Czaczyk (Gaffer/2nd Camera) & Sultan Ali (Grip/2nd AC). After nearly two months of pre-production, we managed to turn two days of shooting into a masterpiece.
